Facilitating Community Acceptance of a New Multi-Million Dollar Towne Centre

When developers of the new Woodmore Towne Centre, a 245-acre mixed-use retail, residential, hotel and office development in Glenarden, Maryland, needed public support, rezoning action, financing and liquor licenses, they looked to Capital Legislative Solutions to assist. A joint development of Greenberg Gibbons Commercial, Petrie Ross Ventures and Hovnanian Land Investment Group, the developers selected the firm that had the experience and could successfully navigate the potential zoning, permit and licensing roadblocks before the scheduled groundbreaking.

Capital Legislative Solutions developed a multi-phase approach, the first phase of which was to earn public support for the new development. The firm used its access to secure meetings with the Glenarden City Mayor and Council, and coordinated numerous town hall meetings and public hearings, providing community members information about the proposed development and opportunities to have their questions answered.

The Towne Centre is under development, having received County government and public support. Capital Legislative Solutions continues to streamline the completion phase of the development by assisting with requirements to secure financing and recommending legislation to expand the licensing on the Woodmore development for future retail and restaurant outlets.
